When I think of Wimbledon, I think of grass courts, epic tennis, strawberries and cream, champagne, and Pimm’s Cup.
A little factoid: Originally, Pimm’s No 1 was made using gin, quinine, and a secret mixture of herbs as an aid to digestion.
Today, the recipe is a little different, though it is still refreshing and easy to make. And it has a lower percentage of alcohol (25%), so it won’t get you too tipsy. No wonder it’s considered the drink of summer in Britain!
Here’s a recipe for the traditional Pimm’s Cup, which uses ginger beer or ginger ale; however, you can swap it for either sparkling lemonade or lemon-lime soda (like 7 Up) if you don’t like the taste of ginger.
