Have you seen the movie “Wimbledon”? I saw it last night on Prime video for, like, the gazillionth time, and I swear it gets better each time! If you haven’t yet seen it, you must – it’s SO presh!
FUN FACT: The lead actors, Kirsten Dunst, and Paul Bettany, both had to learn how to play tennis for their roles as tennis stars. I think they did a smashing job, considering they had only months to learn what took most of us years!
Here’s the official trailer:
This lighthearted tennis rom-com really put me in a Wimbledon kind of mood for something sweet… something strawberry. Strawberries and cream? Nah. Strawberry shortcake? Hmmmmmm… Strawberry Shortcake Truffles? Now we’re talkin’!
These sweet little Wimbledon Inspired Strawberry Shortcake Truffle are the perfect summer treat. And the league ladies LOVE them!
I don’t recommend using fresh strawberries as they will add too much moisture to the truffles and won’t preserve well. I like using unsweetened freeze-dried strawberries from Trader Joe’s. If you don’t have a location near you, Trader Joe’s sells them (and tons more of their products) on Amazon.
So here you have it, a truly Wimbledon inspired treat from Yours Truly. I hope you enjoy!

Wimbledon Inspired Strawberry Shortcake Truffles
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp. half u0026amp; half
- 1/4 tsp. fine sea salt
- 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries
- 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers
Instructions
- In your mixer, mix together butter and sugar until creamy. Keep mixing and add in vanilla and sea salt, and then flour.
- Once flour is thoroughly incorporated, add half u0026amp; half.
- Add strawberries and mix on low, just until well blended. You don’t want to pulverize the strawberries into a powder.
- Refrigerate dough for about 30 minutes to chill.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment, wax paper, or a silpat mat.
- When dough has chilled, melt your white chocolate in the microwave (directions are on package) or over a double boiler. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Insert a toothpick as and use as a “handle” as you pick up the ball and dunk in white chocolate to coat.
- Place on the lined baking sheet at least an inch apart. Once all truffles are created, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator to set chocolate. You can serve these chilled or at room temperature (I like the chilled version better).
